TOURS Your Tour
Guide
Your Tour Guide is the key to the success of your private
tours and shore excursions to Pompeii, Positano, Sorrento, Herculaneum, Mt Vesuvius,
Naples, Capri, Amalfi, Ravello and Paestum. The Bay
of Naples and the Amalfi Coast have some of the richest
history and culture in Italy; to make sure that you don't miss anything or the off the beaten tracks sights, a tour guide is almost a must.
Walking tours with your personal guide can also be an excellent
way to discover famous places such as “Spaccanapoli”,
the Maschio Angioino (also called Castel Nuovo), Via Caracciolo
with the elegant “lungomare” boulevard in Naples
or Villa Jovis (Tiberius’ Villa) and Villa San Michele
in Capri, Saint Andrew's Cathedral in Amalfi, the recently
discovered Roman Villa in Positano or the famous Villa Rufolo
and Villa Cimbrone in Ravello. For Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mt
Vesuvius and Paestum, two hours is the minimum number of hours
required to hire a private tour guide.
Driver/guides do not exist and are not permitted to guide
you around the sites; only licensed guides are permitted to
guide you around historical sites or museums, avoiding queues
and time wasting. Your personal tour guide will be able to
customize your tour according to your interests and needs:
history, art, shopping and local cuisine. A certified guide
must always wear a badge issued by the local Tourist Board
of the Campania Region.
If you have limited time, your local personal tour guide
will make the most of it. He or she will be local, and a native
Italian or English speaker, living in southern Italy. They
will have a wealth of knowledge of all the physical attractions
and of the historical and cultural heritage of the Bay of
Naples and the Amalfi Coast, and are at your disposal for
advice and information while travelling with you. We would
like you to regard your tour guide not only as your travel
guide, but also as your holiday companion.
